My uni lecturer (Henry) has asked me to talk to my class and explain how to create good lip sync when animating.
Why me? well cos my final major project of my BA degree was specialised in creating a lip readable lip sync for my animation. I wanted my parents (who are both deaf) to be able to enjoy it at the end of year exhibition. Also Henry reckons that he's never been able to get the hang of lip sync himself and cos we have to be taught it he thought i might be the person to help.
I am by no means bragging that i am some kind of smarty pants but i am just so psyched that i get to share my knowledge on the subject and maybe get people to understand why lip sync can be a really important part of that animation. I've still got loads to learn myself on the matter and i'm even trying to figure out a way to make a better set of blend shapes as a standard for all characters.
Anyhoo, wish me luck!
P.s. I saw Eddie Izzard on friday in Cardiff
